Job Responsibilities

  • Opens bakery early in the morning and/or closes bakery operations in the evening
  • Cleaning, sanitation and organization of the kitchen, walk-in, storage areas as well as warewashing, recycling and garbage removal
  • Assists with shipping and receiving
  • Ensures that food is properly labeled, stored and rotated
  • Weigh flour and other ingredients to prepare baked goods
  • Mixing, forming, proofing and baking of products
  • Assists front of house staff with customer support, service and cleaning
  • Performs additional tasks and responsibilities as needed

Job Skills & Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience as a baker, pastry chef or similar role
  • Familiarity with professional kitchen equipment
  • Basic and recipe math skills
  • Understanding of kitchen sanitation and food safety practices
  • Excellent time-management skills
  • Ability to work fast and efficiently under pressure
  • Flexibility to work early morning and/or late shifts as needs demand
  • Must be able to perform repetitive tasks
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work with and around food allergens including, but not limited to: milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, sesame and soy.
