Baker
Job Responsibilities
- Opens bakery early in the morning and/or closes bakery operations in the evening
- Cleaning, sanitation and organization of the kitchen, walk-in, storage areas as well as warewashing, recycling and garbage removal
- Assists with shipping and receiving
- Ensures that food is properly labeled, stored and rotated
- Weigh flour and other ingredients to prepare baked goods
- Mixing, forming, proofing and baking of products
- Assists front of house staff with customer support, service and cleaning
- Performs additional tasks and responsibilities as needed
Job Skills & Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience as a baker, pastry chef or similar role
- Familiarity with professional kitchen equipment
- Basic and recipe math skills
- Understanding of kitchen sanitation and food safety practices
- Excellent time-management skills
- Ability to work fast and efficiently under pressure
- Flexibility to work early morning and/or late shifts as needs demand
- Must be able to perform repetitive tasks
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work with and around food allergens including, but not limited to: milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, sesame and soy.
